Flow canvas

The canvas is the workspace where you place and wire blocks. It extends without limit.

Creating a Flow

The toolbar is at the top of the canvas. Click the Flow name on the left side of the toolbar, then click the [New Flow] button in the dropdown to create a Flow. We recommend creating one Flow per purpose.

Adding blocks

Add blocks from the toolbar.

• New triggers/agents/tools/actions are the built-in starter blocks.
• My triggers/agents/tools/actions are blocks you have made before. Create one with your block as the starting values and edit it from there.
• Click a block to open the inspector panel on the right.

Build with AI

Instead of adding blocks one by one, click the button in the toolbar and describe the Agent you want in natural language. Nora generates or edits blocks based on the current canvas.

• When creating a new Flow, briefly describe the task to generate a draft.
• In an existing Flow, describe what you want to add or change.
• Generated blocks appear on the canvas immediately. Refine their settings in the inspector.

To use this feature, register an LLM provider key for the Agent’s reasoning model in the workspace.

Run logs

Click the button in the toolbar to open recent runs for this Flow.

• Select a run to open its trace panel. It shows the order in which blocks executed, each step’s input and output, model responses, and Tool calls.
• A failed run shows the block where it stopped and the failure reason.

Running the Flow

You can run the Draft directly from the canvas without deploying it. Click the button in the toolbar to open the conversational run panel.

• Message Enter what you want to send to the Agent. You can also attach files.
• Thread Click the header, then select a conversation from the dropdown. Running it again in the same conversation continues the previous conversation.
• Pin variables Use the Variables chip above the input to set Flow variables, userId, and TTS for this run. Values set here do not change the Flow’s defaults.
• Stop While the Flow is running, the button becomes the button.

Runs from the canvas always use the current Draft and do not affect the deployed version.

Manage Flow-level variables with the button in the canvas toolbar.

Variable fields

• Name the name used to reference the variable in blocks.
• Source determines where the value comes from.
  • Form receives the value as run input. Turn on Required when the value must be provided.
  • Fixed uses a constant. Enter it in Value.

Referencing variables in blocks

Reference a Flow variable as {{variable_name}}. See Tool blocks for how to use Flow variables in a block.

Deploying a Flow

Click the [Deploy] or [Update Ver.N] button on the right side of the toolbar at the top of the canvas to deploy the Draft. See Deploying a Flow for details.

Collaboration

Several people can edit the same Flow at once. When other members are on the same canvas, their cursors appear in real time, so you can see who is working where. When you open a block, a banner at the top of the inspector shows whether it is currently editable, and the [Lock] button lets you lock it yourself. If you open a block someone else is editing, the inspector locks as read-only and a banner tells you who is editing it.

Panning and zooming

• Pan with a two-finger trackpad drag. Click-dragging empty space draws a selection box instead of panning.
• Zoom with Cmd+scroll (or a trackpad pinch). The range is 30% to 200%.

Fit to blocks

At the bottom right of the canvas is the button. Click it and the viewport moves and zooms so every block fits on one screen. Use it when the Flow has grown past a single screen, or you have panned far enough to lose your blocks.
